What is a certified flight instructor instrument?
The certified flight instructor instrument (CFII) rating on a flight instructor certificate allows you to teach instrument skills to students looking to get an instrument rating or a CFII rating.

What is required to become a Certified Flight Instructor Instrument?
The Basic Requirements for obtaining a Commercial Pilot Certificate are as follows:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Hold a commercial pilot certificate with an instrument rating
  • Be able to read, speak, and understand the English language
  • Obtain at least a current third-class medical certificate
  • Receive required training per FAA regulations
  • Pass a knowledge test as well as the practical test
